Lives and works in Amsterdam
The film “Winter Prayers” by Jan Dietvorst and Roy Villevoye will be screened during Glocal Affairs. This is the portrait of a Dutchman living in France who has been searching for remnants from World War I for the last 30 years. In his house, set up like a museum, he has reconstructed the everyday life of a soldier on the front line. As a permanent memorial to the fallen, he tries to fathom the dramatic events of the period 1914-1918 and to give them a place in his life. The fact that he literally lives in the battlefields seems to form a major factor in this.
