When Kim Rikken was invited to participate in Glocal Affairs, she questioned to what extent an art manifestation organised in Limburg can reflect on the relationship between the global and local in today's art practice, as is suggested by the anouncements of Glocal Affairs.
What is the role of the location the artist lives, works and exhibits? Wat changes if we move this art manifestation to other places on earth such as Beijing, Kassel, or to the north of the Netherlands? Where would we be as participating artists? What would be the effect on the displayed work?
What would be the significance of place then? And where would you be?"
