For Glocal Affairs, Han Rameckers is producing a "glittering" installation entitled "Flat Earth," inspired by the book The World is Flat, in which Thomas L. Friedman (decorated and Pulitzer Prize-winning author) addresses globalization and the fact that a "new flat earth" seems to be emerging. The premise is that thanks to the internet and all other information technologies, borders are dissolving at a rapid pace and the world is becoming a village. Everything that can travel through a cable is made wherever in the world it can be made cheapest.
