Frederieke Jochems has been working on a sizable oeuvre with Andras Hamelberg (1955) for 25 years already, both individually and jointly. Having begun in experimental film-making, today they focus more on historical and contemporary documentaries for nationwide and regional broadcasters. From their Franjo Studio in the Amsterdam district Pijp, they have produced several film projects in Limburg. The short film “Tourniquette” – on show during Glocal Affairs – makes use of the typical Limburg turnstiles between pastures as a tripod for depicting the changing seasons in the Limburg countryside. The sound of the rusty turnstiles acts as an accompaniment to the camera movement.
