Apnée (2007-2008)
Ledure, Elodie
Elodie Ledure’s architectural photographs consist formally of abstract forms and geometric areas of colour. Certain details and irregularities refer to our inner perception. The open character of the photograph itself is coupled with feelings of suffocation and loneliness. During Glocal Affairs, three photographs from the series of 45 can be seen in the work entitled “Apnée” (Apnea). The title “Apnée” – the technique of holding one’s breath under water – refers to the physical area of tension between surface and depth, also occurring when looking at something.
