For Audrey van der Krogt, the theme of Glocal Affairs is perhaps even more apt than for other artists, given that she is emigrating from her current place of residence in Schin op Geul in the Netherlands to America. During Glocal Affairs, her departure will be the focus of a month-long performance, in which people are cast as a living loom, a web of contact lines.
The performance begins with the artist herself literally entangled in this web, which she moves in and out of as the performance goes on, choreographing the spatiality of the tissue as the people in it interact. It becomes a literal embodiment of Van der Krogt's departure, because she ultimately leaves behind a hollow shell, a void.
The audience is heartily encouraged to participate in this performance. On this project, Audrey van der Krogt is working in collaboration with Sietske Klooster.
